- What are your hours?
Our office is open Monday-Saturday and staff is on duty 8:30-5pm. We are closed on Sundays and national Holidays. Our transport staff is available to bring your loved one into our care 24 hours daily.
- Can I be present at the start of the cremation?
LA Cremation does not offer this service; however, our sister company Lighthouse Memorials & Receptions, Rice Center, located in Torrance, CA can help you with this type of cremation service.
- How long will it take to complete the cremation?
Our standard cremation occurs in 10 business days from the date that we receive completed documents and payment from our client. LA Cremation does not offer expedited cremation services. If you are in need of expedited services please use our sister company, Lighthouse Memorials & Receptions, they have completed cremations in less than 24 hours to meet client needs, at a higher fee.
- What can be done with the ashes after the cremation?
In California, the ashes can be placed in a Cemetery, in either an above-ground or in-ground space (spaces may be single or companion). Ashes can be scattered at sea, more than 500 yards off-shore, or can be scattered on land (with owner’s permission). Ashes can also be kept at someone’s home pending future cemetery placement or scattering.
- How much do the ashes weigh?
Typically, between 4-6lbs.
- Can I pre-pay for a cremation?
In most cases, yes. Please contact us (310) 792-7585 about reaching an Advance Planning counselor.
- Do you pick up my loved one?
Yes. Our staff is available 24 hours a day and will coordinate with the family, hospice, or the hospital to be on their way, often within 90 minutes to 2 hours of being notified.
- Who can make cremation arrangements?
In California, someone with a valid Advance Health Care Directive may authorize cremation. If no Health Care Directive exists, the closest next of kin may authorize cremation.
- Do I have to come to your office to make arrangements?
We can also help you by phone, fax and e-mail if you prefer.
- What cities do you serve under your basic fees?

We serve all of Los Angeles, Orange, and Riverside Counties. Transportation to some cities will incur additional transportation fees.
