Information We Need
What are your hours?
Our office is open Monday through Saturday from 9AM until 5PM. We are closed on Sundays and National Holidays.
How long does the cremation take?
The cremation process takes anywhere between 2 – 4 hours. The process depends on several factors.
Can I watch the cremation process?
LA Cremation does not offer this service, however, our sister company Rice Mortuary can help you with this type of cremation services.
Why does it take 10 to 14 business days to schedule the cremation?
We will need to obtain the causes of death and a signature from your loved one’s doctor. We will also need to obtain a permit from the county of Los Angeles in order to do the cremation. These steps typically take several days so we need to schedule accordingly. Should you need the cremation to be completed sooner we offer an expedited cremation service within 3-5 business days at an added cost. Our sister company Rice Mortuary offers expedited cremation in 2-3 business days.
How do I know that it is the right person?
We have developed the most rigorous set of operating policies and procedures in order to maximize our level of quality and minimize the potential for human error. Positive identification of the deceased is assured throughout each stage of the cremation process. We only allow certified professionals to operate our cremation equipment.
Can I see my loved one one last time?
Our sister company Rice Mortuary can help you with this type of cremation service as LA Cremation does not offer this option.
What are the options that I have for the remains after the cremation takes place?
You have several options. Many people want a final resting place for the urn like a cemetery or burial at sea. LA Cremation can help you with both types of disposition. Our Pacific Crest Cemetery has several options for urn placement and our burial at sea service takes place in King Harbor in Redondo Beach, CA. Or they can simply be released to you at our offices.
How much do the ashes weigh?
Approximately 5 pounds.
Can I pre-pay for cremation services?
Yes. Please contact us about making arrangements with a “pre-need” counselor.
Do you pick up my loved one?
Yes. Our staff is available 24 hours a day and will be on their way within 90 minutes of being notified.
Who can make cremation arrangements?
Anyone in the family can help with the arrangements. Legal next of kin will need to sign the cremation forms in the presence of our staff or will need to get signatures notarized. We can also help you by phone, fax and e-mail if you prefer.
